I'll be providing an in-depth status update by the end of this week. For now, I'll just say that I spent most of last week interviewing illustrators and designers for the book and expect to make final decisions this week. I also purchased ISBNs, which feels very official, and I'll know the ISBN in about another week or so.

I purchased John Kremer's book on marketing and am looking forward to digging into it and developing a marketing plan. First, however, the design decisions have to be finalized so the designers can do their work. And I've got some final, final, final revisions to make after getting some suggestions during peer review. It's interesting to watch myself spiraling inward to prepare for writing.

Book orders have reached almost 400, with a few more received on Saturday that I haven't processed yet. It's very satisfying to get this kind of advance response, and without even an attractive book cover to look at!
