Update from Baghdad
My friend with the family member in Iraq sent me this update:
"The book has been taken from the bookshelf. It is now at large in Baghdad. Wishing it GodSpeed!"
My friend is currently visiting India and has given away two copies of the book there.
Practically Shameless has now been either bought by or gifted to people in 13 countries: the US, Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, France, Norway, Denmark, South Africa, Australia, Iraq and India.
When I wrote earlier about the copy in Iraq, I wasn't having much emotional reaction because there was an unreality to the knowledge that a copy of my book was in Baghdad. A few days later, I had breakfast with my friend Susan DeGenring at the Two Dog Diner here in Longmont, and as I told her the story about the book in Baghdad, I choked up. It finally sank in.
